MGGI scores 70.7 pct in 2021, women surpass men in educational attainment

PUTRAJAYA, July 11 — The Malaysia Gender Gap Index (MGGI) scored 0.707 or 70.7 per cent in 2021 compared to 0.714 or 71.4 per cent in 2020 with women’s achievement surpassing men in the educational attainment sub-index with a score of 1.060, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) in conjunction with World Population Day.

Malaysian life expectancy has risen by 12 years — DOSM

PUTRAJAYA, July 11 — Life expectancy at birth in 2021 is expected to increase to 75.6 years, or about 12 years, compared with 63.6 years five decades ago in 1970, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).
